Financial assistance and scholarships

Various scholarships are available to HEC Montréal students. Find out about which ones are available to you! Find out which ones apply to you. In addition to offering financial support, a scholarship adds a great deal of value and prestige to your CV.

Scholarship directory

At the start of and throughout each term, be aware of the application deadlines and find out about the scholarships for which you are eligible by visiting the scholarship directory.

A tutoring service is also available to review scholarship applications submitted to granting agencies.

The financial aid and scholarships team also offers information sessions and workshops to help you prepare your scholarship applications. Several tools are also available online, such as guides and examples of projects funded by granting agencies.  

The team assists students with applications for loans and bursaries from the Quebec government that are available to Quebec residents, whether they are Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or refugees.

The loans and bursaries program is offered to students of the following statuses:
• Full time or deemed full time (loans and bursaries)
• Part time: those who have fewer than 12 credits per term and are not deemed full time (loans for part-time studies).

Success and wellbeing

You can refer to the Success and Wellbeing team for support, whether to address a personal issue or a situation involving a disability, or to develop study methods or strategies tailored to your needs. Over the course of a few meetings, we can discuss whatever you are experiencing and determine how to help you regain your balance. Our primary goal is to establish a meaningful connection with you so that we can provide you with immediate and confidential support and counselling throughout your Ph.D. 

Are you feeling exhausted, stressed, or sad? Experiencing academic, personal or family problems? Student Support psychologists are there to help you understand your situation and offer counselling. Reach out to receive fully confidential services.

Services are free and confidential. They include:
• A short-term psychological follow-up
• An initial psychological assessment
• An external referral, if necessary
• Short-term sex therapy.

Want to study more effectively? Adopt strategies and learning methods tailored to your needs? Several resources can help you succeed in your doctoral studies.

Students with disabilities can benefit from individual support and services aimed at supporting their studies.
